Getting noticed and gaining more followers on Instagram can be challenging for some and easy for others. Why? What are the differences? Are the people getting hundreds of thousands of followers and likes doing something differently than you are? Likely… yes.
Whether you’ve had an Instagram profile for a while and are wanting to rebrand yourself or you are just starting out, keep these tips in mind when you are trying to grow your Instagram.
How to Get More Followers on Instagram:
Know Who You Are & Where You’re Going
Nobody is going to want to follow you if you’re not sure of who YOU are as a person, brand, business. Get clear on exactly what you offer, who you are and where you’re trying to go in the future.
When I sit down with my clients for a consultation, I have them come up with a list of 5-8 words they feel fully embody who their business, brand, or themselves represent. When you do this it allows you to block out all the clutter and focus on those core areas. Your followers will learn to know that what YOU specifically post about and will keep following you because of it.
Knowing where you’re going is super important. If you’re not up to anything really, why is anyone going to want to follow you? It doesn’t need to be starting a massive business, it can just be getting more people interested in your mom blog. But ask what VALUE you are offering to others through your content.
Know Your Target Market
One of the biggest mistakes I see people making is just hopping on Instagram without a plan, posting sporadically and hoping for the best. This is not a success strategy. Best practices would be thinking about who your target market is and creating content that caters to THEM and converting them into sales, blog views etc..
Know your target market! Who are you trying to talk to? Who are your customers? Who cares about what you have to say? What do they do everyday? Are they married? Do they have kids? How old are they? How much money do they make?What other brands do they like and enjoy? Start answering questions like these in order to know who your target market is and proceed accordingly.
Content, Hashtags, Engagement
